• Vintage Motocross Events for those with older bikes or two strokes •
RMVMC is the local vintage racing group for the Rocky Mountain Region! The Rocky Mountain Vintage Motocross Club is a not-for-profit organization that is passionate about presenting classic motocross racing on historic bikes!
We have classes for those 70s-80s bikes (Bultacos, Maicos, Elsinores, etc), but also for 90s two strokes, and even modern bikes. This is really great vintage racing. If you have an old two stroke, etc in the shed come on out. We don't compete with RMRA - we're just a great place for fun racing on older bikes. Less stress and no 5:30 am start times!
Great News!
RMVMC is now an AMA Charter Club
After much effort by your RMVMC leadership we're excited to announce that we are now an official AMA Charter! RMVMC will now be nationally sanctioned and supported by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). This partnership will strengthen our club's recognition, and through the AMA, will help us provide national-class events to our racers and club members.
What does this mean to you, an RMVMC Racer?
Eligibility to compete in AMA National events
Ability to earn district and national rankings
Liability protection at AMA Sanctioned events
...and all the numerous benefits of being an AMA member
What are the next steps?
While there are many details associated with racing in AMA Sanctioned events probably the first and foremost thing to do is to get on board as an AMA Member. Joining is easy - just click here to join! (This is a must-do next step).
We'll also be adjusting our Rules and Code of Conduct to be more in alignment with the AMA. You can grab a copy of the AMA Rulebook for Motocross here.
Additionally, we'll be switching over to annual electronic waivers - no more manual completion at the races! After completeing the online release form you'll be send a PDF card via email - that will be all you need for this calendar year! You can read more about the AMA Annual Release forms here. Start with verifying the information in your AMA Profile, here, then move on to complete the appropriate online waiver form:
Minor Release form (multiple guardians)
Minor Release form (sole custody)

RMVMC and AMA Memberships, along with appropriate release forms, will be available during registration. If you signup for AMA online, bring/record your AMA Member number. If you complete your AMA Release but have not received your waiver card, no problem - complete a paper waiver at registration.
This is a huge step forward, and we truly appreciate your patience and commitment as we grow together. Our goal is to keep vintage racing safe, fun, and sustainable for years to come.
Tech Inspection - what's it all about?
Verifying that your race bike meets the technical and safety requirements of the AMA helps to ensure that all of our motos are as fair, and safe, as they can possibly be. While we understand it might take some time to get in alignment with all the check points, having your bike go through tech at each race will be mandatory. We'll be looking at the safety related items harder than the 'procedural' items.
What are some of the items the inspector will be checking?
Helmet - Snell or DOT approved, 2015 and newer, no open face helmets
Riding Gear - boots 8" or taller
Braking system - proper function and in good condition
Throttle Operation - no binding or sticking
Kill Switch - operational
Levers and controls - ball ends present, bar ends plugged, steering head bearing play
Footrests - must fold upwards
Tires and wheels - sufficient tread, spokes tight, no bearing play
Sprockets and Chain - excessively worn or loose
Number Plates - 3 plates, 5" numbers
We expect that most RMVMC racers have well maintained machines and will fly through tech with ease - use this list as a mental cross-check!

Lakeview Motorsport- Sunday Recap
If you like fighting super deep ruts in sweltering heat then this was definitely the race for you! The heavy rains on Friday and Saturday evening made prep'ing the track very difficult - standing water, thick deep mud, goopy surface. Super-deep ruts developed during practice that were very difficult to navigate on anything but a modern class bike. A decision was made after practice to delay the race for about an hour and we're thankful that Larry was able to make quick work of resolving the serious obstacles so we could go back to racing.
The warmth of the day and improved track conditions allowed us to carry on with the schedule and put down a bunch of great motos. Thanks to all participants!

Call for 2025 Volunteers!
To keep our special version of motocross racing alive in the 2025 season we're going to need your help - not only all of the volunteers at each race that help keep the gates dropping, but also at the highest level: Club Leadership. The current leadership staff and steering committee members, as they do each year at our annual meeting, will be stepping aside to make way for a fresh, new and energetic set of folks to lead the club through 2025. What can you do, and where will you take RMVMC next year? We'd love for you to choose your volunteer role to keep RMVMC alive in '25 by using the Volunteer Sign Up button to the right!
